Margaret Palca has been a professional baker for the greater part of twenty years. The bakery she is well-known for, Margaret Palca Bakes, opened in its first incarnation in the early '90's. Her baked goods enjoy a wide distribution in the finest specialty stores in Manhattan, such as Dean & Deluca, Citarella and many others. Her first commercial product was rugelach, but she now has developed a full line of cakes, cookies, tarts, and muffins which change on a seasonal basis.
As Ed Levine said in the New York Times, "Margaret Palca makes the finest rugelach in this area".
In addition to their conventional bakery repertoire Margaret Palca Bakes welcomes the challenge of special orders. Cakes for birthdays, weddings, and large parties are welcomed and will be custom decorated to suit the occassion. Delivery and shipping can always be arranged.
All the baking is done in Margaret's store at 191 Columbia street, Brooklyn. The operation continues to be carried out by Margaret Palca herself and a close-knit group of employees.
